WHAT IS THERAPY?It is a helping relationship based on exploration of issues/problems, increased awareness andunderstanding, thus empowering the client to make the appropriate choices and decisions in their life.Therapists do not give advice as this goes against the principle of empowering the client. The therapistwill carry out an assessment of the problems by taking down the history of the client, identifyingsymptoms, issues and client concerns, devising a psychological formulation and using relevantinterventions to help the client deal with their problems.
HOW I WORKI am an integrative psychotherapist. My approach is psychodynamic as well as transpersonal. I collaborate with my clients and involve them in decisions about the process of therapy. I am registered and accredited by BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy).
THE INITIAL CONSULTATIONIt is here that I explore your key issues and consider any concerns you may have. It is an opportunity to convey any relevant information and provides us both with the chance to decide if we want to continue.
